The issue mainly impacts systems with several users. Without local access, it shouldn’t matter. Remote access could potentially allow someone to gain control, though you’re unlikely to be concerned unless the vulnerability is already exploited. TLDR: Most at risk are cloud-hosted machines running multiple users from different organizations. If unpatched, a local user might steal data from another. Cloud servers host many clients on the same hardware, enabling one attacker to access another’s information. This concern has been around for about a year, so necessary microcode fixes could have been available earlier from companies like Supermicro, Dell, HP, etc., and were likely included in prior BIOS updates. Dell mentioned that several of their servers might be affected and suggested updating the BIOS to the latest version.

I'm the sole user of my PC. The only network-related activity I perform involves using a Synology and accessing it from my PC, other computers, or my phone.

It seems like the value isn't worth the drop in performance, as it covers only the latest 6th to 11th generation Intel processors. Anything older than the 12th generation tends to struggle with both single-thread and multi-thread speeds in today's games, particularly in competitive multiplayer settings.

It's tough to grasp what you don't understand. Lack of knowledge can feel rewarding, particularly in tech discussions. Many prefer sticking with what they have due to cost concerns. If you're content with your current setup, I wouldn't push anything further for no reason.

I enjoy boosting performance by 1.5 to 2 times for a smoother feel. At 240Hz it works just as well with fewer minimum drops. It comes down to what matters most to you. If the cost doesn’t add up to a better experience, skip it.
