I have a new question about my PC setup, aiming to stretch my budget further. I sold my RX 6800 for $250 and flipped it at the casino for $1510. My current configuration includes a 7900 XT, 128GB RAM, two 1TB SSDs, and a 24TB HDD. I don’t have a GPU (the RX 6800 was sold). If I can’t get the $749 RTX 5070 Ti from Micro Center, what would be my next two and then third choices for a GPU? My workloads involve content creation, video editing, animation, light gaming (especially fighting games and Soul-like titles), and productivity tasks. I use programs like Adobe Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator, Moho Pro, Toon Boom Studio, Maya, 3D Studio Max, ClipStudio, and Krita.

I’ve found links to GPU models currently available at Micro Center in Brooklyn. I plan to buy after my 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. job ends on July 21, 2025.

Here are the GPU options I’m considering:
5070 Ti @ MSRP
https://www.microcenter.com/product...d-...phics-card
9070 XT @ $699
https://www.microcenter.com/product...d-...phics-card
7900 XT @ $649
https://www.microcenter.com/product...t-...phics-card
7900 XTX @ $799
ASRock AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX Taichi Overclocked Triple Fan 24GB GDDR6 PCIe 4.0 Graphics Card (Refurbished) - Micro Center
Get it now! The center fan spins in reverse to reduce turbulence and improve airflow through the heatsink. Designed for optimal thermal performance and quiet operation with all enhancements.

Nvidia generally performs better with AI and digital art projects than AMD does.
You had three options to consider. The 5070TI stands out as the top performer among them.
The 9070XT could be a solid option if your projects run smoothly with it. You should verify this.
I wouldn't suggest the 7900XT. It's a last-generation model. I own both a 7900XTX (for gaming) and a 7800XT (my Ollama setup), to counter any bias.

Among these three, the first one (5070Ti) is designed to meet your specified requirements most effectively.

About 9070 XT versus 7900 XT, spending $699 before taxes fits within my $800 budget plus selling the 6800 for $250. I noticed that adding $749 plus tax would exceed my budget.

At a similar price to the 9070XT, Nvidia stands out for graphics and AI tasks, while AMD offers a product that could compete in the next generation. Until then, team green remains the top choice for professional use.

The 7900 XT and XT might not be worth it if you can't find a MSRP 5070 Ti. They could match the power of an RTX 3090 and a 7900 XTX near 4080-4090, but that doesn't guarantee value or suitability for your needs.

They compared the three options and highlighted the best among them. Several suggestions indicated Nvidia often outperforms AMD in similar tasks. The 7900 XTX and XT are strong GPUs, though perhaps not ideal for every purpose. Choosing one isn't necessarily a mistake—it depends on what you need most. Any of the mentioned choices will work well. Go for what fits your budget and confidence.
