Consider the benefits of enhancing an AM4 socket versus beginning anew.
Hello everyone
I built this gaming rig five years ago.
The components are: AMD 2700X, EVGA 2070, ROG Cross hair Hero VII motherboard, 16 g Trident DDR4 3200, and Corsair RM650 power supply.
I’m asking whether it’s worth keeping the AM4 board and upgrading the CPU and GPU, or if it’s better to start fresh.
I’m open to spending a bit more if the performance gain justifies it for gaming. A little extra cost shouldn’t be wasted unless the improvement is significant.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Needs to "upvote" 5700X3D. Owning the 5800X3D makes me extremely pleased to see this performance in the top 5 among numerous gaming benchmarks. The AM4 chip, though old, remains relevant at its price. For those with an existing setup, upgrading for around 220USD is a clear choice. Also, remember that 3D V-cache memory greatly reduces bottlenecks. The OP's 3200Mhz RAM works perfectly fine.
