Ram speed is simple because 1520 DDR2 offers already high performance. You won't get reliable stability from just 80% of the maximum speed with limited cooling. Mild overclocking like 2200 DDR3 doesn’t really matter much for stability, and even a well-tuned high OC will work as long as cooling is good and you run tests for at least 24 hours. If I don’t push it that far—say around 1420—I should see full stability. With DDR3 at 2200 it usually works in under a few minutes, though auto OC tends to struggle. I wouldn’t worry about stability until I hit the system’s theoretical limit, like with that DDR2 which might reach around 3000 under normal conditions, but I don’t have anything that can go beyond that.
