I got a 9950X on a decent sale, I haven't opened it yet, and I've been researching a bit, but I can't really find any direct info on how much better the gaming would be on the X3D version. I was going to just get the 9800X3D, but I plan to stream while I play, and also create and edit videos. I'm going to be using a 5080, I'll be playing newer games in 1440p as the streaming content, so I want to have decent enough performance to do all of this proficiently with decent framerate in the game as well as the stream. Does the X3D cache make a big difference, or is it menial? This all comes down to me wondering if I should send the 9950X back and wait for another payday to get the 9950X3D or just keep the 9950X and roll with it. Any informed advice is appreciated.

GN has a video featuring benchmarks, including the 9950X. It's worth checking them out to see if the additional cost is justified. The X3D can noticeably improve game performance.
