If you're just gaming, the 8600k is still pretty decent especially with an overclock, if you're satisfied with the current performance then good, if you need an upgrade and your workload needs the extra cores and threads, wait for zen 3 and check what it has to offer..
besides some games that struggle with non-hyperthreaded CPUs (far cry 5), the 8600k remains a solid processor. You might be able to sell it and get a comparable price for a used 3600+B450, which would offer better performance for productivity and certain titles that benefit from extra threads. Otherwise, it would mainly lag in gaming speed and slightly drop average FPS. Even if Zen 3 outperforms Intel in games, it probably won’t be affordable at the budget level where I5s are common. We’ll have to watch how it turns out.
