I own a Patriot Viper 2x16 Gb DDR5 RAM at 6000Mhz CL36. Recently, one of the RAM sticks failed and replacing it costs as much as purchasing a new set. Right now I’m considering three choices: 1) Purchase another 16Gb with identical speed and latency from another manufacturer. 2) Buy another 16Gb with 30CL and matching performance, since it’s more common. 3) Acquire a 2x8 package with the same specifications, which is more affordable. Which path is best and safe?

Upgrade your setup by purchasing a 2x16GB 6000C30 bundle. This ensures perfect compatibility with your existing components and offers peace of mind—no need to upgrade when future CPUs stay within DDR5 9000 or when your RAM stays at 32GB or less.

Purchase a fresh RAM package to fully swap out your existing memory. Avoid combining different RAM sets at all times.

Ik heb nooit problemen gehad met het mengelen van RAM-kits, hoewel ik ze alleen maar op DDR3 en 4 heb gebruikt.

On DDR5 there are some problems to watch. I've combined RAM sets before on DDR5, and things didn’t go well. (Reminder: this happened on a board with the stock cooler, which might have masked CPU overheating issues, but I’m not sure it was caused by the Ryzen 5 7600.)

Equitable, though this might simply reflect the instability of DDR5 overall
