Consider suggestions for anti-vibration material to place between PSU and case.
I recently upgraded my computer, mostly replacing components except the HDDs. My new PSU (NZXT C750) causes slight vibrations in the case, though not loud enough to disturb. Previously, with a 700watt Stealth XTreme PSU, there was no vibration at all.
Using software to adjust GPU and CPU cooler speeds helped narrow down the cause, confirming the PSU is the main culprit. I’ve since purchased a quieter be Quiet! Straight Power 12 750, following advice that my issue stems from the NZXT noise rather than vibration itself. If the new PSU still causes vibrations, I’m looking for ways to reduce it. There’s some space between the PSU and the case wall where I could place something. I’ve heard aquarium filter foam might help—would that be a viable option?
