I’ve tried strategy games like Napoleon Total War, but I’m now considering a Civilization game. Looking for veteran players or tips would be helpful—I’d appreciate any recommendations on a good starting point. Thanks!

They're the best-made games, but I'm short on time to explore every situation.

Recommend Civ 3 or 4 for a more modern feel. The newer titles tend to focus more on visuals than gameplay.

I prefer five the most, but it's only great when all discounts are available.

Civ 6 has room for improvement, though it might be the top Civ title upon release. Civ 5 with all its expansions remains excellent.

They're offering a CIV bundle right now—three or four pieces for just one dollar, with prices increasing from there.

Choose players who work automatically first. Once comfortable, shift your attention to managing them, crafting tailored strategies for each city. Raise the challenge level as you progress, or it will become overly simple.
