I'll share the video with you, but I recently tested a family member's machine and noticed the power supply was acting strangely. It sounded like it was discharging unexpectedly, which makes me think swapping it out might be necessary. It's about 14 years old, so any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! 20230418_131247.mp4
Never encountered such a statement from a PSU before during my 23 years of PC building and following tech enthusiasts. If it's genuinely a 14-year-old model, I believe purchasing a new one would be the safest choice! You should never risk it with an older unit—it functioned well for 14 years, so it likely will too... But eventually, it might fail.
I understand this might be a high-end PSU from its era, but it seems to be nearing the end of its lifespan. Typically, these last 10-15 years, so a 12-year-old 450W unit still has some time left but is quite old.
I'm capable of handling both tasks, though it appears more probable now than before because of those sounds.
