Gigabyte and MSI both offer high-quality mobos, but Gigabyte is often praised for its reliable performance and durability. MSI tends to focus on advanced features and sleek designs. Ultimately, the choice depends on your specific needs and preferences.

Avoid purchasing based on brand names; focus on the specific model. What is your budget and preferred platform?

I found a good deal on an i5 8500. I looked for mobos nearby since shipping from elsewhere would be more expensive. I have two choices: a Gigabyte B365M DS3H or an MSI B365M Pro VDH.

Consider selling the 8500 and acquiring a B450 Pro 4 along with a 3300x. This combination will offer better performance and help you transition to a more suitable platform instead of staying on the current one.

You can attempt to sell it. If not, consider the B365 Bazooka as a suitable alternative.

Neither option is doing well, and the 8500 isn't improving much. I’d recommend selling it and considering a 12-thread CPU instead.
