I'll probably wait to see how the reviews shake up. The main reason I've started to consider the R9 are two things price and also part availability if it starts to become a issue with the virus stuff. I'm cool with the pin array its just personal preference. (Nightmares of my socket 939 days) I'd prefer to slide my CPU in then to worry about doing it wrong and bending pins is all. I have a nh d15 so I'm set there. Noctua has the easiest install brackets ever. I also feel the pull to upgrade because I also picked up a set of trident z ddr 4 3600 in the r event AMD was it. It makes sense to wait, the 4790k performs well at 1440p. I just upgraded from it. I’ll test it out since you have a D15. The only drawback is waiting might mean less resale value when Intel releases their latest. I’m not really into Intel right now. The power use and heat from the 10700k could be intense during long gaming sessions. Make sure your case has solid airflow. The 3700x is surprisingly efficient for its power level.
