The feedback from the closed beta seems promising, though I wouldn’t rush a purchase. Unless you’re super eager for those three models, pre-ordering probably won’t help much. Also, there’s a chance it could drop in price at launch—who knows?
I believe the price will fall quickly. Most car games I know tend to drop faster than others. Take a look at grid 1 and grid 2 to see how rapidly the prices fell. Just remember, you probably won’t see a massive drop before the Steam summer sale. If you're lucky, it might appear during the winter sale.
I’m planning to wait a few months after the release, especially when it goes on sale. I tried the closed beta—it was great—but unless they lift the 30fps limit, I won’t buy it at full price. Right now I already have plenty of games to enjoy.
