There might be some discounts this Christmas sale. Before the launch, I noticed around 2 million players, but now it's only 900k. It seems many are switching to the Xbox version. I don’t want to buy the game and then play alone on the server later. I recall similar experiences with DayZ when I bought it.
They just released 1.0 and I can't access it. It seems like a mix of startup problems and lots of players joining. No PC users are switching to Xbox for this game. Haha. You won't play alone in PUBG if you have friends who do. It's the most social gaming experience I've had. Just add people as you go and join any Discord channels they invite you to.
It doesn't appear to be on discount on Steam. The best deal I've seen is on CDKeys, bringing the price down to $25. If you're thinking about purchasing it, now seems like a great opportunity. The LFG forum is a nice spot to connect with others interested in teaming up or forming squads. Also, many of my friends enjoy playing on weekends and we often have availability open.
It seems the game hasn't been reduced in price yet, so you might have to wait a while before it becomes available at a discount.
