Cyberpunk 2077 can be preordered on Steam, though I'm unsure if my PC meets the requirements. It seems it should work well, but there are some concerns about needing an i7-8700k and a 1080Ti. If that's true, I wouldn't want to spend £50 just in case. Any advice would be appreciated, Henry.

Why would you wish to preorder the game? What advantages does it offer? If you skip preordering, can you still get it on launch day, or is that incorrect?

I've had my share of disappointment with pre-orders, so I've stopped trying them, even if I think the game will be great. I wait for reviews and/or price drops based on how it turns out.

As others mentioned, there is no advantage to pre-ordering the game. It's better to wait for reviews and test it on your hardware to understand if your setup can support it.

That rumored requirement is such bullshit.
No game would launch with "minimum requirements" higher than 99.9% of consumer pcs. Unless cdpr wants to lose money and reputation just to create another "can it run crysis" meme
That being said, why would you preorder? Im 100% sure I will get that game, but unless there is some preorder discount, I dont see why preordering would make sense.
Also, get this game on GOG. 100% of money goes to the devs and you get that SWEET drm free goodness

I'm very confident your system can handle the game. The information comes from a report about an i7 8700K/1080Ti running the Cyberpunk 2077 demo. Regarding pre-ordering any game, it's not just regrettable—it's a serious error unless you're extremely fortunate. Cyberpunk 2077 is expected to be released at a discounted price, and by then it should be more optimized or at least thoroughly tested by multiple players who can share troubleshooting tips.

Outer Worlds came out just under five weeks ago for PC, and Red Dead Redemption 2 was released less than a month prior. After five weeks, their prices have dropped significantly.

The advice is clear: don't pre-order. Think of the release as happening in about 165 days instead of 137, or you might end up getting it at half price from someone desperate to sell it quickly after receiving it for free.

It's not believed there are any minimum requirements. Those specifications came from the computer used during the demo at trade shows. CDPR confirmed this.

If you truly need to preorder, follow the example of a coworker who did. He ordered at a nearby store and plans to pay when he picks it up xD.

There isn't really any reason to pre-order unless you want to support the developers early on. I pre-ordered a physical copy of the game back in August.
