I set up the system for work tasks like VR gaming, video rendering, and modeling. It performed well on an Asus X570 with a 4X (G.Skill Trident Z Neo Series DDR4 3600 CL16-19-19-39). I occasionally needed 64GB RAM during daily builds. There were some WHEA errors, but the BIOS version 3801 seemed most stable. Concern about memory: is the 4X (16GB) causing issues? Would using two 32GB modules be better? Or should I upgrade to a 5900X or 5950X chip?

Why not experiment a bit? Lowering your RAM speed might be easier than upgrading and still keep things running smoothly. It could save you some money without sacrificing much performance.

It's already been originalized. His CPU and GPU pairing might not be up to the demands, reducing performance could be beneficial. Just because it's an XMP setup doesn't guarantee success with every possible configuration.

Now the memory runs at 1-1 1800 XMP, it works stably but sometimes I encounter USB or WHEA issues. This suggests either replacing the CPU or swapping the memory might be beneficial. I’m looking for recommended kits that have been tested with 64GB configurations.

Examine the impact of the additional cache in the 5800X3D on your tools and applications. Those extra 64 MB might offer more value than the few extra cores found in the 5900. While I suggest waiting a couple of months to observe announcements about AM5 sockets, keep in mind that soon after launch there will likely be many BIOS updates and potential memory compatibility challenges.
