Planning to install Ryzen 7800X3D and 7900X into a system for gaming and content creation? You’ll want a motherboard that’s highly optimized for those components.

The MSI B650 TOMAHAWK and Gigabyte AORUS AX B650 are highly regarded boards that handle 7800X3D and 7900XTX smoothly. I've used both in my projects and they perform well. You can watch a detailed video, 35x B650 roundup by Hardware Unboxed.

Gigabyte B650 gaming X has performed well for one of the users I assisted in setting up their system. Also, be sure to obtain QVL RAM on its page.

A budget B series motherboard under $200 is possible. Look for options with integrated 2.5G Ethernet. Anything should suffice.

I’d prefer extra storage and features for a premium board, so if you don’t require those extras, there’s no need to pay more.

Avoid Asus Prime boards and anything labeled A620; most other options are reliable now.

This model would be my choice if I didn’t have the Pro version.

Avoid the Asus B650E-E at all costs. It has major issues with recognizing RAM, especially any type. It took me three days to get even one stick working, let alone both. I’m now switching to a Corsair Dominator 6000MHz with two 32GB sticks. It’s still running on one now, but I expect it to fail completely and need a replacement. Please don’t get this board.
