Hello.
I was wondering if those two programs consume battery when closed but still running in the background while you're logged in. Would it be better to log out before closing the window?

If you just close the window then the application isn't actually closed Steam and Battle.net run in the background even if the window is closed. In order to fully close them you click on the option next to your internet and sound options on the task bar that is an up arrow that looks like this ^ that if you hover over it says show hidden icons. You will then right click on the battle.net icon or steam icon whichever you have running and then select exit. It will fully close the application so they are not running in the background. No need to sign out or anything.
