I've just updated my motherboard and CPU. I have an Asus P8z77 with a 2500kHz clock speed. I managed to enter the BIOS, but it already shows the 2204 BIOS installed without any changes. Should I use the installation disc to set up the chipset drivers? Also, since I previously had an AMD CPU, do I need to perform a fresh installation now?

For mobo drivers, if it's working fine, leave it alone. I've seen many boards fail after a simple BIOS update.

The existing BIOS should suffice since it's relatively recent. I'll install the chip set drivers using the disc instead.

You might choose disc because the website frequently releases newer versions than what's available on the disc. The main reason to go this route is limited internet access—such as using another computer with a USB drive or updating later—or when the download server is unavailable. Regarding BIOS updates, it looks like you're fortunate with your hardware; sometimes the BIOS is several years old simply because it's been stored in a warehouse for a while.
