Hello, I've successfully achieved 5.2 GHz on my i7 4770K across all cores and completed a 4-hour intense session using OCCT with temperatures kept between 70-73°C. I'm wondering if pushing it further is necessary, especially since my GPU might be the main bottleneck. I can share photos when I'm back home with my power supply and other details.
It's all about the voltage. If you don't mind, you can increase it further, but pushing too much can damage it or reduce its lifespan.
Voltage reads around 1.28, though I believe the maximum is closer to 1.35. This isn't ideal; my first attempt took three days to get stable.
Do you have the cooling system ready, and has it been disassembled? Just curious.
You're saying you feel fortunate because you got it second-hand about four months ago for £60.
some chips come with specific boundaries, even when they're identical, so if you aim to overclock you need to be fortunate
