You're looking for FPS shooters with story mode that fit your system specs. Based on your hardware, consider titles like "The Last of Us Part II," "Red Dead Redemption 2," or "Cyberpunk 2077." These games offer immersive narratives and should run smoothly on your setup.
Play Half Life or Black Mesa first, then enjoy Half Life 2, Episode 1 and Episode 2.
Brothers in Arms offers a strong trilogy with a rich atmosphere that I found engaging. The ARMA missions were particularly enjoyable, though the single-player experience of Dishonoured might not deliver much value. It leans more toward an immersive simulation or RPG rather than a traditional FPS like The Metro series. STALKER provides a great setting but lacks a deep narrative. Titanfall 2’s campaign stands out as one of the best I’ve experienced recently. Deus Ex delivers a solid story, though it’s more RPG-focused than action-oriented. Far Cry 3 and 4 offer strong immersion, but their storytelling tends to be lighter.
If you want a shooter with a good story, you'll be hard pressed to beat Fallout 4. It tends to split opinion, but I loved it. It's on game pass at the moment too. Some other recommendations are; The Outer Worlds Titanfall 2 Crysis (all 3) Far Cry (any of the newer ones) Bioshock Now, Bioshock, in particular, is probably the most engaging and engrossing story from among those, and there are 3 games in the series. There's enough gun play and action, but there's also a very interesting story there too. Personally, I'd say get all 3 (they are always on sale somewhere) and play through the series.
