I am deciding between these two laptops:
Lenovo Slim 7 ProX 14.5" 3K Laptop AMD Ryzen 9 6900HS Creator Edition NVIDIA, 32 Gb RAM and 1 Tb SSD ($900 Certified Refurbished)
or
ASUS - Zenbook 14.5" 2.8K OLED Laptop - Intel Evo Platform - 13th Gen Core i7 Processor with 16GB Memory - 512GB SSD - Inkwell Gray ($1000 New)

My primary needs are studies, some programming, and occasional gaming.

What exact CPU model is included in that Intel i7?
The price difference would be $100 more for a new unit instead of a refurbished one.
I’d prefer a new system unless there’s a clear benefit to a refurbished version.
I don’t believe 32 GB of RAM is necessary for "studies" or most games.
You’re the only one who would understand if choosing 1 TB storage over 500 GB makes a difference.

Intel® Core™ i7-13700H Processor 2.4 GHz (24MB Cache, up to 5.0 GHz, 14 cores, 20 Threads)
The 32 Gb of RAM seems excessive, I believe 16 Gb would suffice.
The 500 Gb of storage could be limited, but I’m open to adjusting it later.
I’m uncertain about how these processors stack up against each other and overall which notebook offers better materials or design.

Ryzen single thread scores 3334 with all threads at 24034; Intel achieves 3718 with all threads at 30090. Both run at 35 watts TDP, though Intel offers more cores which may not be significant. Intel edges out by 10 to 25 percent on the tests—could be noticeable. I recommend Intel unless you spot a clear advantage for AMD or if 100 is a major concern. Consider design aspects like longevity, comfort, keyboard feel, and screen quality; these depend on personal preference and side-by-side testing or reviews.
