I acquired the Ferrari Pack mostly to go along with the F312 and pair it with the Lotus 49. I remember it wasn't too costly... But the Porsche pack contains too many similar vehicles to justify the expense—it's comparable to Gran Turismo and It's Skylines. Not to mention the SUVs, which I definitely wouldn’t drive. I already have a decent collection of Lotus road models in the base game... Yet I focus on carefully chosen mods for my content now. Right now I’m working on mastering the Nissan Primera BTCC car—it’s quite challenging, but the quality of the mod is exceptional. If I were to purchase more DLC, I wouldn’t be too surprised by the price. I’ve managed a lot of seat time in AC, and nothing compares to the value I got from the original rFactor game... probably still my most played title ever.
I don't appreciate Kunos due to the dev team's lack of skill and their inability to accept criticism. They struggle with feedback and often react negatively when confronted. Lord Kunos, his username if you're unfamiliar, frequently mocks the player community and removes users from forums. While they supported modding—a key feature of the game—they closed the mod section, claiming it was due to inappropriate behavior or unfinished work. The more active modders kept poking holes in the experience, especially in audio, graphics, and physics, which led to bans. It seems the forum was shut down because many felt they were being unfairly targeted or ridiculed.
The game's visuals are underwhelming, with only one light source and a basic color scheme. Despite this, some modders managed to improve nighttime driving with working headlights. The audio quality is poor, even though the equipment looks decent and Fmod integration is possible. Their surround sound support arrived late, resulting in a disappointing experience.
Any real-world racing expert or professional driver would point out that the physics feel off and don't match real-world expectations, leading to frustration and potential bans. The developers are clearly unskilled and react poorly to criticism, often dismissing fans who purchase their products. People disliked Ian Bell from SMS for similar reasons, yet Kunos avoided scrutiny. I just don’t want to tolerate incompetent individuals who resent their customers.
Phil Fish of Fez is another controversial figure; many dislike him too, but the community seems to overlook Kunos for some reason. At least he delivered a solid product.
I wouldn't suggest Forza Horizon 3 for PC since it's reported to fail and cause frequent crashes.
