I'm planning to refresh my setup around Black Friday. For the CPU, I'm hoping the price of the 5800X3D drops a bit before next year. Regarding memory, I need advice on where to purchase or upgrade from my current 2X8 setup. Would you recommend a specific model like GeIL 16GB (2x8GB) EVO X II AMD Edition DDR4 PC4-25600 3200 MHz? It would be great if it matched the modules in my case: GAEXSY416GB3200C16ADC. Any suggestions would be helpful. This is just a snapshot of my current configuration.

Only when you exceed 14GB or have more RAM doesn't adding more help speed things up. Your device won't waste extra memory just to be faster; it'll only use it when needed by apps or games. Look at the task manager in Windows to see how much RAM is being used, which gives a solid estimate.
Can you check memory Thaiphoon Burner to identify the exact RAM in those GeiL modules? 2x16GB would support Dual Channel Dual Rank as most 16GB units already are. 4x8GB would also work with dual channel dual rank since even single-rank 8GB chips would use two dual channels. There’s essentially no real performance difference. The 3600 CL16 provides a slight boost over the 3200 CL16 on Zen2 and Zen3, but it doesn’t justify the cost. With a 5800x3d RAM speed and dual rank, cache becomes more important than speed, so the need for fast RAM is reduced. The 5800x3d will likely stay at its current capacity; it might drop in price but could run out soon. Instead, consider upgrading to a CPU—options like the 5700X (no major upgrade), 5800x3d, or 5900x depending on your requirements.
@191x7, I believe I got it: Will the 5700X provide an upgrade? I’m still a bit confused about that.
I recently purchased my 5800X3D five days ago, and I’m grateful I secured it before opting for a different memory speed. This processor remains unaffected by the memory speed you choose. I’ve tested various options ranging from 2666 to 3200 MHz on my A-data system, but there’s no noticeable variation. It’s impressive how powerful it is—its price should drop soon after production ends, and it might even become available second-hand. It competes with top-tier Ryzen 7000 and Intel 13th-gen CPUs in gaming. For tips—keep checking local dealerships regularly. That’s how I obtained mine from a small tech shop for $299. Often these good offers aren’t publicly listed, so you’ll need to search yourself. P.S. One of the best value upgrades is the 5700X.
You have a Samsung B-die RAM with a JEDEC rating of 2133 CL15. https://semiconductor.samsung.com/resour...b_17-0.pdf It’s safe to install any compatible RAM that matches this specification. A 5700X offers better performance than a 3700X, especially for productivity tasks like Excel, and provides only minor gains in gaming with a high-end GPU.
