The performance boost from turning on PBO on the R7 3700X versus the standard model can vary, but it typically offers noticeable gains in gaming speed. Whether it’s worth enabling depends on your usage—if you play heavily demanding games, the improvement is likely significant.

Check the results based on your CPU, cooling system, case design, and motherboard. Expect minimal gains or a slight boost—around 10%. Run CineBench before and after to compare performance.

Consider an MSI B450 A-PRO MAX, Gaming Plus Max, Tomahawk Max, or Mortar Max for optimal performance.

I received identical outcomes both in tests and within the game when turning on PBO.

Too many variables making it hard to get precise answers. Just gave it a shot. No chance of hurting the CPU since it manages heat automatically.

They say the Ryzen 3000 line has limited overclocking potential versus other processors. In my opinion, it’s not worth the effort because my gaming performance is smooth enough. Changing it wouldn’t really help. Just adding more power use without any benefit. If you’re curious about benchmarks or experimenting, try pushing higher numbers and see how it goes.
