I received an RX 570 with 4GB of SHAPE NITRO memory recently from a friend. This is my first GPU, so I started by updating the drivers. Unfortunately, I frequently experience issues: when switching between programs, the whole system freezes for about 4 to 5 seconds, then I see black screens, and this happens multiple times. The most recent time this occurred was while opening SoT, where the Xbox app reported a GPU driver problem. Should I downgrade the drivers, and if yes, which one should I use? Thank you.
vBIOS refers to the firmware embedded in the video card, whereas drivers are the software components in Windows or the operating system. You're looking at the current driver versions for your setup. According to the AMD website, the most recent driver for the RX-570 was released on April 5, 2022, replacing the version from March 17, 2022.
Ensure you use the newest compatible video drivers. Avoid flashing the VBIOS unless you are experienced.
Running version 22.2.3 (out on 2/23/2022), the most recent updates are 22.4.1 (released 4/5/2022). Newer AMD GPUs like the RX 6900 XT and ECC models work best with these releases.
