Used a Ryzen 3 3100, then upgraded to a Ryzen 3 3300X and finally a Ryzen 3 3100 again if possible.

R5 2600X paired with R7 2700, R7 1700, R7 1800, R3 3100 (new), R3 3300X (new).
Uncertain about purchasing a used 3600 since it feels nearly new!

I upgraded from 2600X to 3600X and didn't see much change in gameplay. The main difference was in benchmark scores. Still, pay attention to the 3100 and 3300X—though they have just four cores with eight threads, they handle games well and maintain similar FPS performance compared to the 2600X.
