Hello everyone! I just got a new laptop, and like most ones, it comes with a lot of unnecessary stuff. Should I take everything out and clean it manually or reinstall Windows from the beginning? Will anything important be lost? (It’s an MSI GS43VR if you’re curious.) Thanks!
Refer to the guide at https://www.howtogeek.com/224342/how-to-...windows-10 for a smooth setup afterward.
I’d create a screenshot of the operating system prior to performing a clean installation.
I would perform a new setup. For personal reasons, I'd run a complete cleanup of the HDD/SSD during installation. When prompted in the installer guide, entering the command prompt can signal the drive to erase its contents without actually deleting them—just informing it that data is no longer needed. This might cause future performance issues, so I prefer a full format when required.
To access the command, locate the Start menu and search for "Command Prompt." If you haven't installed it yet, follow your system's instructions to create it.
