Color me excited
I really like that monitor and its cost!
Given that I’m almost certain to try Nvidia for the first time, I’ll need the G-sync model – same price.
Do you think a 27-inch and a 1440P screen would work? Since I want to play old games and watch 720P movies while still handling demanding new titles? Thanks!

I've never used an Nvidia GPU before, which made me pay closer attention to that AMD option. The person I'm hiring to assemble the system prefers NZXT cases and 'noctura?' air coolers, which fits the bill, and why do many people opt for a 1000-watt PSU? Shouldn't an 850 still provide enough headroom? There are so many factors to consider these days, so I'm being very careful to avoid "buyer's remorse" like Lafong mentioned. Thanks again.

Noctua coolers are decent, though a bit expensive. Thermalright has consistently offered great value for money.

If you need to drop about 1k from the budget this is what I would do to maximize GPU power and still have a decent enough CPU. If you feel the CPU is lacking the 9800X3D will be coming out soonish.

I talked to that shop yesterday and they said they would build it for me. They promised a call back today but haven’t given any update yet, aargh. Right now I’m really tempted to just have NZXT make a custom build for me. I don’t like their pre-built options. But some important parts are out of stock right now. If I went that way, I could let my local technician inspect it before bringing it home. It would take the stress off and let me move forward. There’s definitely mixed feelings about NZXT overall—are they at least a decent choice? Could I do better? After all, thanks for taking the time to help me here. I feel a bit bad now, and my local guy might still call!
