He wants to go tech independent and is considering macOS. He’s open to giving up £1000, and he’s used iPhones so he might prefer macOS. I’m fine with macOS, and he’s already built a gaming PC last year without issues. He also plans to upgrade his GPU to an OFC model.

I use a pad or an android tablet—they are large with easy touch controls. iPad OS remains quite similar to iOS, and most tasks can be handled on iPads (there are even wireless keyboards making it feel like a laptop).

He mainly uses it for emails, banking, and PDFs—kind of admin stuff. With an iPad this might seem silly. It’s very portable, so he loses everything easily and I’m sure he’ll misplace it often.

I'll get an iPad and attach a cable to keep it secure.

He’s not my dad if he wants to bring it with him; he won’t listen to my advice.

He is definitely going to lose an iPad as well. He tends to misplace things often.

The iPad is roughly the same dimensions as a laptop, meaning it offers similar portability and performance.

It's confirmed after drafting the first message I considered switching to an iMac or downgrading my PC. I plan to upgrade my 1660 Super with a less powerful GPU.

The screen doesn't seem to indicate much strength unless he's tackling tough tasks.
