Hello. I've been working with VMWare Workstation 11 for a while now, but it's been a bit inconsistent. It sometimes freezes or restarts itself, and I often can't access Task Manager to stop it. Explorer also crashes at times, which means I have to reset everything and lose my running VMs. I'm looking for something more reliable. It should support NAT, offer strong performance, and most importantly, be very stable. I'm currently using Windows 8.1 Core, so Hyper-V isn't an option.
The only other option I recall is VirtualBox. I’m not certain about Citrix; they probably offer a VM player as well.
Have you thought about obtaining a Pro license and leveraging Hyper-V? I know it wasn’t initially an option, but since I have a Pro account and it functions well, I’m open to trying it. It’s not ideal for me as I don’t regularly use VM setups, though I occasionally experiment. The price difference shouldn’t be significant, particularly if you follow the software swap discussions people share.
I considered the issue, but the challenge with Hyper-V is its absence of NAT capabilities. I attempted it, and the main issue was the lack of NAT functionality.
