The additional components include my cooler, which from what I recall is linked to the Mobo and unrelated to the PSU, and a CPU that also isn’t tied to the PSU. I’m aware one of them is connected to my existing GPU.

It seems there are four PCIe/EPS ports on the power supply unit. One connects to the EPS slot on the motherboard (six shown in the diagram), leaving three more available. One port is already assigned to your current GPU, so two more should be free. Based on the information, it appears you’ll have an EPS cable and two PCIe cables with daisy chains included. In theory, that should work. Personally, I’d prefer not to use daisy chain cables, so I’d opt for an extra one from Asus or a cable mod, giving you three separate cables for the GPU. Just make sure you haven’t overlooked anything.

It seems there was likely a mistake during setup. I notice two PCIe cables coming from the back to the 6 port, but it's unclear how they're connected. Probably only one should be used based on the design.

The PSU setup allows the three labeled CPU/VGA/PCI-E ports to connect to your 3080. The bottom ROM fits your motherboard (24-pin) and the CPU (8-pin in the left 6-pin slot). The extra cable going to port 6 isn't required unless you're using a very high-performance chip for serious overclocking. Share photos of your system—PSU, motherboard, GPU, wiring—and we’ll help clarify anything. All decisions are yours.

I asked a technician at a tech shop and they said: "I looked it up, the PSU ROG STRIX 750W includes one 24-pin, two 6+2-pin PCI-e, and two 8-pin CPU cables. You should connect the second 6+2-pin PCI-e cable." Based on that, I think those two "CPU cables" were probably plugged into slot 6 from two of the PCIe ports. I’m also curious how two 8-pin cables could fit in a slot with four and six pins. As you pointed out, I’m not sure my i7-11700k requires both, so it should just be about swapping one CPU cable for the GPU one and adding another PCIe cable to the last slot on the PSU. Which would total three cables overall, including the GPU connection."

I checked my rig for spot 6 and noticed it had been set up that way. The lighting was too dim for a clear shot, but it matched my Paint edit. I’m unsure why the original builder used two cables when a single 4-pin with two 4-pin heads could have worked better. The third slot remained open—though if everything were connected, two cables would be needed. I’m not sure about the cable mismatch; the CPU cables (8 pins total) aren’t suitable for the GPU. Still, my system runs smoothly with this layout. If it’s safe, removing one cable and using a single 4+4 cable with both heads could work. Currently, two cables are used on the PSU, one going to the GPU and another needed for the third cable. According to others, the Strix 3080 handles over 350W, which is more than the combined capacity of two cables (300W), so adding a third cable seems reasonable to balance the load.

Connect the entire 8-pin CPU connector into the motherboard. The remaining half should stay empty, as it seems unclear why it's left unused. It looks like the designer didn't understand the requirements. You shouldn't connect power cables to graphics cards. The PCIe interface supports up to 150 watts according to its specifications. The actual cable may transmit more than that, which is why some setups use two PCIe connectors in a single cable. Each connector delivers 150 watts to the card, not per cable. Seasonic’s design uses thinner wire on the second connector, so they advise limiting total draw to around 225 watts. That's their recommendation, and it can reach up to 450 watts overall if you combine both cables properly.
