Connector for prepaid SIM-based Wi-Fi router
Connector for prepaid SIM-based Wi-Fi router
I'm trying to attach an antenna to my router. I purchased an IPEX to SMA adapter, but it might not be the right size. Here are photos of the router's internal board and another with the adapter I bought. The sizes of the female and male parts match exactly, making it hard to insert. Can you help identify the correct name for the female connector and the type of male connector I should buy? Please include the actual image of the connector and its details. Thank you.
I aim to clarify the objectives I’m setting and explain what a 4G router is. A 4G router connects your devices to mobile networks using 4G technology, allowing faster internet access compared to older 3G or 2G options.
It seems you purchased an antenna designed for a male connector, but the board uses a different type.
I position my router near the window with weak signal strength. I’m considering installing an external antenna mounted on the roof. Here’s the link to the Evoluzn FX-ID5 router.
I believe the antenna connector marks the final point whereas those align directly with the PCB trace leading to the antenna itself. Adding more antennas alongside an existing one can lead to issues since the router is built for its specific setup and uses advanced algorithms to handle reflections and multiple signals on the same frequency in different polarizations. In some cases, this could even damage the radios. For outdoor use, you'll achieve better performance with a dedicated outdoor router that houses all these antennas in the outdoor unit, avoiding losses from cables connecting outdoors to indoors.
