You have a bitfeenix whisper m and the 6+2 connector has extra plastic on one side. You might be able to remove that bit carefully to fit the 8-pin connector. Just be sure not to damage the board.

Ensure you're placing it precisely before any changes. The 8-pin connector is designed for a specific orientation, so avoid reversing it. Can you slide the two pins apart from the side of the connector?

It turns out I'm making a mistake. The tiny plastic piece that connects the 2-pin to the 6-pin is typically on both sides, but one was missing, so I placed the 2-pin on the wrong side.
