Is it best to place your modem and router near each other for optimal performance? Your home has tricky wiring and limited phone lines, so positioning the Wi-Fi router in a more open space helps. You need to run several ENET cables from the switch to hide it, which means the distance between them matters. Using Cat6a cables won’t significantly impact speed, but proper placement is key for stability.

The pace will stay steady as long as each run is under 100 meters (~320 feet)

Actually, unless you're extending your CAT6a beyond 100 meters, it's not necessary.

Ethernet wires perform without degradation beyond 100 meters. Exceeding that distance requires additional repeaters.

Sure, just confirming the details. The maximum is 20 meters to the switch and up to 30 meters from there. Thanks for checking!
