Hi, I just purchased a Lenovo Legion 5 laptop and noticed that using Bluetooth while downloading slows down your internet speed to half. Both WiFi 6 and Bluetooth are connected through the same Realtek card. Anyone has any suggestions on how to resolve this issue?

It looks like the issue is tied to the single card's constraints, as sharing bandwidth affects performance. Your setup seems better than a full block.

Is there a Wi-Fi card inside? A quick search on Google didn’t yield much, so I’ll ask the source. Have you looked for updated drivers? Avoid Microsoft updates or laptop vendors—just go directly to the manufacturer of the Wi-Fi adapter. I need more details to suggest a better option.

It appears you're using an RTL8852AE chipset but couldn't locate compatible drivers from Realtek. The Lenovo options haven't resolved the problem. Your system includes an R5600H GPU, RTX3060, and 16GB RAM. You've already tried Windows 11, which didn't work well, so reverting to Windows 10 might have helped. Could this be the cause?

I can't access your device manager directly. However, you can check the driver version by opening Device Manager on your computer and looking for the listed drivers under the "Driver" section.

In your situation, the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth parts compete for the same connection. The best way is to purchase a Bluetooth or Wi-Fi USB adapter.

Seems like that driver needs updating. Consider using version 6001.0.10.340. This Realtek model often faces problems with weak signal quality. Many users switch to Intel AX cards instead. Regarding bandwidth sharing, it’s unlikely the issue is just from outdated drivers. I personally use an Intel AX200 and still enjoy smooth Bluetooth performance on Wi-Fi without any slowdowns.

Thanks! It looks like you might want to search for a Bluetooth adapter.

I wouldn't fret about a Bluetooth dongle; I'd opt for an Intel AX card with built-in Bluetooth and call it a win. Bandwidth sharing isn't a concern here—PCI-e 4.0 1x delivers 2GB/s, which is more than sufficient for the card to run at full Wi-Fi and Bluetooth speeds simultaneously. The issue appears to stem from inadequate driver support.
