Connectivity Problems
Hi, I see you're experiencing issues connecting to your modem on Windows 11. It seems the server might be blocking access or requiring specific permissions. Since a fresh install worked before, it could be related to network settings or account restrictions. Check if you have administrative rights and try restarting the modem. If needed, contact your network administrator for further assistance.
I've already attempted it, but the problem still exists. Have you considered alternative solutions?
It seems your Telstra modem functions as your router. Depending on your IP range, you should be able to run an ipconfig /all command with admin privileges on your computer. The gateway address will match your modem's IP. In a web browser, enter the gateway IP directly using its address. You can also add the DNS name telstra-modem in your hosts file to point to the correct IP.
It would help to verify the device appears on your network. Launch a command prompt or terminal and enter 'arp -a' to see all connected devices along with their IP and MAC addresses. If you're not sure which device corresponds to which, the MAC address of your modem or router should be printed on a label.
When checking DNS configurations in your modem, router, firewall, or firewall/DNS unit, private devices often combine multiple components like DHCP and NAT. The server that assigns IP addresses on networks such as 192.168.X.x or 10.X.x.x will display the device name there. Broadcasting this information locally can improve stability when added to your local DNS settings.
