Connection via Oculus Link
Connection via Oculus Link
I've been eager to try VR for a while now, so I decided to purchase a quest. However, I need to connect it to my computer, but I don't have a USB-C output. I also can't locate any HDMI to USB-C adapters; only USB-C to HDMI are available for phones and Chromebooks. If you know of any alternatives or solutions, that would be really helpful. Thanks!
My device connects via a USB 3 Type A port and functions well with Oculus Link. I’m using the Anker Powerline II cable since it delivers sufficient speed for this purpose. It’s also reasonably priced.
Yes, a port can be placed anywhere on the computer while still utilizing the GPU.
Link functions as a streaming service. The headset remains disconnected from your GPU directly. Your GPU handles the processing and sends results back to the headset, which manages the interaction and relays commands. I've tested it with Fallout 4 VR, Skyrim VR, No Mans Sky, and Elite Dangerous—it performs well. In a few weeks I'll see how it handles Star Wars Squadrons. Most USB 3 ports seem to work fine.
Thanks a lot, I wasn’t aware of that. I believed you needed to connect it to your GPU. You’re the best!
