Computery folks, I’m in need of your assistance. I have a decent setup, but my internet speed tests show around 45mbps at the modem—slightly below what it should be, though I can manage. Since I’m hardwired via Cat 8 Ethernet to my PC, there shouldn’t be any problems there. However, my download speeds for Steam and Xbox are hovering between 4.8 and 5.1mbps, which is average (I’m not sure why it’s not higher). All applications, drivers, and updates are current. Windows AutoTune seems normal. I’m really puzzled by the slow performance.

Unit variations will be highlighted. The speed test displays in megabits per second. Downloads on platforms like Steam show in megabytes per second. Remember, there are 8 megabits in a megabyte. 5MBps equals 40Mbps, which aligns with typical expectations.

His downloads match his speed readings, and the connection is around 1Gbps—not 1GBps. That would mean a much higher rate of 8Gbps. Similarly, the upload speed you're seeing is about 50Mbps, not 50MBps, since that would equate to 400Mbps.

They confirmed the speed comparisons, focusing on the difference between Steam and Xbox, caused by unit misunderstandings.
