Hi for a little backstory, I just got installed Vodafone Gigafast here in UK its 1Gbps Down 1Gbps Upload, originally I was using the stock router as I couldn't get my ASUS one to work but after some rejigging, I finally got it to work properly. So on ethernet everything is fine 3 ping, 941 download 941 upload about what I can expect. Now over WIFI next to the router I get the kind of speeds of the 1st attached image. Then moving into my bedroom which is probably the furthest point away from the router, I get the speeds attached to second image. Obviously I know this is a given being that I am furthest point away from the router and 419 Mbps is perfectly fine, but the upload speeds don't seem to travel half as well? I am not fully clued up with WIFI e.t.c so this could just be normal but I am wondering if there is a way to improve this or if I have done something wrong setting router up? Also if there is a more optimal configuration for the antennas e.t.c I currently just try have the ends pointing into my room haha. TLBig GrinR Upload speed seems to drop off a lot more in proportion to the download further away I get from router. Thanks all!!

Your connection speed relies on your device, regardless of the speed test method used. If the signal strength is weak, download speeds will drop noticeably compared to upload. Which device are you testing on?

Thank you, it works well on a MacBook Pro as well. I've tested it on my phone too.

What kind of Wi-Fi are you connecting to? It only allows several data streams during download, not upload. Wi-Fi 6 and newer versions remove this restriction.

The problem remains consistent with the MacBook M1 Pro connected via WiFi 6, achieving only 926Mbit download and 253Mbit upload during testing to the NAS.

I'm not sure which one I'm using, to be honest.
