I received a new Wi-Fi recently and it's delivering 900 Mbps, a significant jump from the 35 Mbps I experienced before. I'm using a Cat6 Ethernet cable that connects directly to my PC via the router. Online speed tests consistently show stable uploads and downloads at around 900 Mbps with no changes. However, when downloading games on Steam or Battle.net, the connection initially speeds up to about 30 Mb/s, then drops to near zero for 30 seconds to a minute before attempting reconnection, which often fails. I've seen it reach up to 100 Mb/s on Steam once (peak reading appears), but then consistently stays at 0 until it tries again, usually resulting in very slow downloads (2-8 Mb/s). I suspect this might be related to storage performance rather than the drive itself, since my SSD writes at 130 Mb/s and still doesn't maintain speed. The delay in downloading seems to coincide with game-related processes, which my friends didn't notice taking longer. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Specs: Motherboard: Auros B450 M CPU: Ryzen 5 5600 GPU: RTX 4060 Power supply: Corsair 650 Watts RAM: 16 GB Corsair Vengeance 3600 MHz

Have you looked into updating or installing the NIC drivers on your motherboard via Gigabyte's website? Also consider checking for any download speed enhancers or gaming performance limiters that may have been set up—these often restrict bandwidth and could be causing the issue.

I downloaded the LAN driver, thinking that was the only one related to Wi-Fi that appeared. It didn’t work, and there were no apps restricting Wi-Fi usage. I’m unsure what’s going on, but thank you for your assistance.
