Connection lost online System shutting down
I'm experiencing problems with my internet connection. To give you better insight, I reside in a military camp accommodation block and use Wifinity as my ISP. A few weeks ago, some maintenance was done there—possibly involving changes to the Ethernet ports in the rooms. Since then, I've faced frequent, intermittent disconnections, especially during online gaming or streaming. When I stream or download games, the connection remains stable (though very slow). I attached a screenshot from my internet log showing consistent drops lasting 8-10 seconds during a 20-minute session on Iracing. It seems the issue might be related to uploading data, occurring only under those specific conditions. I'm often checking the network myself, but Wifinity is notoriously difficult to work with. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated so I can escalate this to technical support directly. TIA
It usually occurs only while playing games, not otherwise, so I’d suggest using a VPN to check if it resolves the problem. But since you’re on a military network, this might be risky—authorities could react negatively if you try.
they tried a few things and wondered if a VPN would help. it began on the same day they swapped out the building equipment. i suspect it might be something basic like resetting a network switch, but handling these big firms is really tough. the only help came from customer service reps who just followed a script. i chatted with one for 20 minutes explaining my setup via Ethernet, not Wi-Fi.
They swapped the router and messed with the MTU configuration, causing constant drops. It’s been a while since I encountered something like this—especially when sending bigger packets. They’ll need to fix it.
