Connection loss detected Internet service interrupted
My main computer uses a wireless connection to the router, which isn’t perfect. I’m using a USB LAN adapter. After reinstalling Windows, it’s not connecting properly despite showing up in the network list. I tried the built-in diagnostics and were told to restart the modem, but it still reports an internet issue. Oddly, my laptop’s wireless connection works fine, as does another computer connected via Ethernet.
I'd start by selecting a trusted adapter from a reliable manufacturer such as TP-Link, ASUS, Netgear or Linksys instead of dealing with unnamed brands. Cheap no-name adapters can work fine when they do, but if they fail, troubleshooting them isn't usually worth the effort. You can also check the adapter and driver software by using it on a different computer that has the same Windows version.
Check the device manager for any "!" next to the adapter. If there is, look up its model number online and search for drivers. Also, test the adapter on different USB ports to see if it works. If none of these steps apply, the issue might be with your router or your computer's IP settings. Let me know what you find.
