It seems the connection to the basement has a 100Mb limit. Plugging my laptop into that switch only lets me move data at 100Mb, whereas transferring from my PC works faster at gigabit speeds when using the ground floor router. The cable is quite long and goes through several concrete walls and ceilings without any designated channels. O.o

Do you have a cable tester? Begin by re-attaching the ends and verify the pinout is accurate.

When I tested continuity with a multimeter, everything looked fine—cables are intact and properly connected. If you asked me whether I wired it correctly (matching or crosswired), I couldn’t confirm. Could this be the cause?
