Connection issues with the Wi-Fi are not being resolved.
About two weeks ago, I installed an ASUS GT AC5300 router to enhance my home Wi-Fi. Yet, within just two days of setup, issues began to arise. After some troubleshooting, most problems were resolved. Still, a major issue remains unclear — certain family devices (including mine) occasionally fail to connect to the Wi-Fi, even though the password is correct and signal strength appears strong. The problem seems random: it affects phones, laptops, or sometimes my dad’s or mom’s devices. After resetting the router and updating its firmware, the issue vanished completely. However, when I switched back to the older TP Link router (about five years old), the problem disappeared instantly. My parents are now frequently asking me to return the new router. I believe this isn’t an unsolvable challenge, but I lack sufficient expertise in this area. I’m seeking guidance and hope for a solution. Thank you!
A long shot, but I've seen this before: Some routers have a default limit to the number of connections allowed at the same time. Check that and ensure it's set to either unlimited, or max allowed. Also, see if you can create a GUEST account, and see if you can put things like cellphones/consoles on that and see if it solves anything
The number of devices connecting to the Wi-Fi isn't limited. I've restarted the router and reinstalled the latest firmware. I also created a GUESS account to follow up on this, and so far everything appears normal. I'll continue monitoring to check if the issue returns. Thank you.
