I'm trying to configure a 3-party software on my network for the SMTP Gmail relay, but it's not functioning properly. Anyone have any suggestions or assistance?

The internet service provider might be restricting the connection to stop unwanted email sending.

I agree. Using telnet on smtp.gmail.com at 587 should function. If it fails, the outgoing port is likely blocked or being filtered.
