I recently had my internet line extended since the old one in my home was outdated. I noticed my ADSL connection was frequently dropping and the speed was very slow—around 0.50 Mbps, far below my 15 Mbps plan. After checking, I found a loose connection that might have caused the issue. The wire is labeled as self-supporting twisted pair. This could definitely be the reason for the problems you're experiencing.
