Connection issues arise when installing Windows 10, with no drivers found.
Hey everyone, I have a issue. After turning on my new PC and connecting the USB stick with Windows 10, I didn’t modify any BIOS settings on my ASUS ROG STRIX Z690-F board. I just installed Windows without using the activation key, hoping to activate later. During setup, I couldn’t get online and ended up selecting “I don’t have Internet.” That didn’t help either. Later, I checked Device Manager and found several devices missing drivers. Since there’s no internet, updating drivers isn’t possible. Anyone have ideas? Did I miss something in the BIOS? Everything else on my hardware seems fine. I have a 12900K CPU, an RTX 3080ti, two 2TB Samsung 980 Pro drives, two 5200MHz 16GB DDR5 RAM and more.
Use another device to fetch the drivers from the mobos site, save them onto a USB stick, and then apply them to your new computer.
Download the drivers for the board through an alternative method. If you have a phone, use it; otherwise, access the internet using any device you're currently using.
It's typical you need to install drivers yourself? I wasn't aware of that. Appreciate the responses!
Back then, CDs usually came with drivers included. Your motherboard probably had a USB flash drive with the necessary drivers, while Sound and Nic didn’t seem to come with anything.
It doesn't seem to be. Usually Windows installs essential drivers during or after the update, and the installer includes some network drivers. This issue appears to be your own—you can't download the right drivers without an internet connection. The real question is, how did you attempt to connect?
I had to set up the Ethernet drivers myself. Then Windows handled everything on its own.
