I only need to set up a Home Assistant server on my own domain, handling HTTPS and other services. My goal is mainly to forward ports 80 and 443. I’ve used DuckDNS before but now want to switch to my own domain.

You’d still require a DNS forwarder to translate a domain into your home IP. Since your home IP has changed, this is why a dynamic DNS solution like duckDNS becomes essential. The point I’m making… which I didn’t fully grasp… is the IP address you’re targeting for this configuration matters. Are you referencing an IP or a domain? For testing, your personal IP works perfectly, but if you’re using a domain, ensure your dynamic DNS is properly configured and directing traffic to your current IP. I was surprised my setup was misdirecting to a nearly identical IP that wasn’t yours—so the ports stayed closed despite the visual fix.

In the end I really want to use a domain, but I haven’t gotten there yet. So far, I haven’t managed to set up port forwarding for anything other than 8123. I’m not even trying to work with a domain right now. My goal is just to forward ports 80 and 443, and I need to figure out whether the issue lies with my router, modem, or ISP.

Yes, you're using a static IP and not relying on a dynamic DNS service.

Currently, I'm focusing solely on my IP. No other tasks.
