Both devices are running Windows 10 Pro. I'm attempting to link from my desktop to my laptop in the home network. During remote desktop, I receive an error saying "Your credentials did not work" and a red warning "The logon attempt failed" after entering the password. My laptop has PIN protection enabled. I've tried using both my normal password and PIN, but both fail. I locked the laptop and confirmed the password matches exactly what I'm typing on the desktop client. The issue persists despite checking firewall settings—any suggestions? I need to finish some work and my laptop is too compact for comfortable use. Screenshot attached.

is that user allowed to connect to the remote desktop server? Check in sysdm.cpl under remote tab.

The local account name would match your Microsoft account. It uses the email address you provided during login.

No, I don't use my email account for both laptop and desktop. They have different passwords and emails.

It seems the system recognized your username as your first and last name instead of your email address. Appreciate the clarification!
